This is a real head scratcher and of course, Intel support has been eh,
non-supportive.
So I'm turning to the experts here.

This is a new computer that I built, DG965WH, 2.16 mhz core 2, 6 sata
hds, raid 5, nvidia 6800 ...
According to a psu calculator, the 420w psu that came with the case was
a little underpowered.
So when I saw a sale on a nice heavyweight Ultra 600W V line dual rail
psu at my local Fry's, I quickly bought one.

So far so good except the only problem is this new psu, my Intel
Desktop Utilities has gone whacko.
On most reboots, my voltage read funny, zero numbers temp but only on
the processor and mb zone 1 which were way too low.
On another, the voltages were good but the processor and mb zone 1 was
still lower than expected, ~70 F.
Rarely, the voltages were good and the temps read around ~100 F which
is where it should be.
The whole day yesterday, it read good but then it went back to
screwyland this am after a standby restart.

Of course, the only reason I knew is with the alert popups which I've
disabled now.
I've updated Desktop Utilities and the BIOS a few times, including the
current 1618 1/20/07 release.
I checked and checked to make sure the fans are blowing the right way,
no cables are obstructed airflow.
I seriously doubt temp is really a problem since it will raise the
alert first thing in the am.

The real kicker is, when I switch back to the previous lightweight psu
for a few days, it was fine.
Of course, switching to the new psu and it starts again.
Bad psu but the computer runs fine ?

Help.
