MCI calls to determine monitor resolution

Hi,
I couldn't figure out which forum to post this to, so I'm posting it
here.
I used Window's MCI calls a few years ago in a multimedia CD-ROM
project
using Macromedia Director to enlarge digital video.

Now I want to make a change to the CD-ROM -- to be able to determine
the monitor resolution so I can enlarge videos according to the
monitor's resolution.

I'm assuming there is an MCI call to do this. If so, I'd also like to
see the
exact syntax/code.

Also, where would be the best group to post this question?

Thank You,
Debra Cohen
