Currently running 256K on my Inspiron 1200. Dell sells a 1MB DDR
SDRAM module #SNP1Y255C/1G (333MHz, PC2700) on sale now for $101, plus
tax and shipping. Was wondering if this module from Best Buy would be
a workable substitute. Opinions?

Thanks,

Markl

No. The Best Buy photo shows memory for a desktop computer, not a laptop.

Best Buy is selling 1GB PC2700 for laptops for $140 or so. The Dell deal looks
pretty good to me. Or you can buy on eBay for $75 to $80.

You do not want to get DDR2 memory, which the current stuff used in all the
newer computers and which is dirt cheap... Ben Myers

Thanks, Ben!

I feel a whole lot better about paying $101 now that I know the $65
module won't work!

Thanks again!

Mark

This looks right. I always use www.crucial.com. Just select the
Mfg/Line/Model.

the $65 crucial brand module from newegg is quality memory and owners report
sucessfully using it in the inspiron 1200 in the newegg feedback.
