I downloaded version 3.0, unzipped it, double-clicked "install.bat" and a
command prompt window flashes up then closes too fast to read it. (I've
tried it with the floppy in and out). Anybody know what's up?

Just downloaded and ran it using install.bat with no problems. Maybe

Sounds like an ex-Amiga user CLI is short for Command Line Interface, or
to put it another way, from a dos prompt.

Now that I know what "cli" is, you can use the command line, but it also
opens up in a DOS window when install.bat is double clicked, at least on
my XP system it does.

Yes, but at least if he runs it from a DOS prompt, he'll be able to see what
the error message is saying!

I have Memtest86+ on a floppy and I just boot from the floppy and it runs.
Memtest doesn't need DOS to run.

I think the thread is entitled "Memtest won't install", Frank. Not "Memtest
won't run".
