I am using Radeon 9800 AIW, with Audigy 2. Before upgrading to MMC 9.03,
everything worked, including the mute button and volume slider in the TV
application.

Now, the sound is controlled by the Line-in (and Master Volume) slider in
the Audigy mixer. Nothing else. It's as if a signal of fixed strength is
coming out of the ATI card (and going into the Audigy Line-in at the back of
the PC).

What do the controls in the TV application supposed to control? How do I
make those functional again.

Thats correct. The leve out of the ATI card doesn't change.

The soundcard volume on the input you selected, i.e CDROM/Aux/Line In.

Normality will be restored once we work out what normality actually is.
