Hi,
I have a ViewSonic 17EA monitor which was made in 1996. It had builin
speakers and has been working great. But yesterday, the moniter went
off. The design of the moniter has a back switch that controls the
main power and the front has the standby if you will button. Anyway, i
first noticed that the screen would be fine in aspects of position,
but it would be wide, like you could not see the "X", "-" and the
File, Edit menus. I went under the monitor control panel ocated on the
monitor itself and made the horizontal display size the smallest, but
it woulod not move at all dame for vertical alignment. It would matter
what resultion 640*480, 800*600m or even 1024*648 or what ever they
are. Nothing happend, i did notice that the the moniter woulds be
quite shaky. I did not change the hertz, because im not sure of the
moniter's limit. Then after teh screen would be widescreen the whole
scereen would befor my eyes, start rotating 3D! like the end would
move towards the middle and it was crazy to see. After that the light
of the moniter would flip off and the monitor would turn off. Even
through, the main back switch is turned to ON. I checked the moniters
cover and it did not seem to be too hot. Could this be a video card?
Bursted Moniter? Im not sure, but it has been runnin good til now.
THis might help you guys maybe but lately when i turn off the pc, i
forget to turn off the moniter and it runs on a orange standby mode.
tia!
