msgsrv32/ SETUPX.DLL

Hi,

The message ""msgsrv32 has caused and error in SETUPX.DLL" appeared last
time I started my Compaq Presario 5000US with Win ME. I did a search on
Google and
someone mentioned Ctrl-D to get the details of the error message, but the
computer did not response. Matter of fact, it did not response to anything,
just freezes at the purple ME background..

Any way to fix or restore the msgsrv32/ SETUPX.DLL without a full reinstall?
I don't have the original OS, just Compaq's Recovery CD which will wipe out
everything.

Any help is appreicated
