The bios in this computer is version 3.16 the bios is hard wired to
the motherboard... anyone have a bios hack for this? yea right ... do
the stars in the sky twinkle just for me?

right now it refuses to recognize any hard drives to work . <
thats a period

however if i install windows XP home it recognizes the hard drive
and installs all the root files, and when i reboot, i get the HP
splash screen f1 or f10 instead of the windows XP HOME OS
installation... then if i dont press anything it acts like theres no
hard drive attached to the computer.....

i go into the bios and disable the splash screen and what
happens... the hard drive is recognized in the bios but again upon
booting the hard drive is denied privileges to work ... no hard drive
found!!!

I stuck the original hard drive back in it unformatted and with the
original factory installation... no drive available.

I work with computers full time and have built over 100 computers
since 1998, when i ever see a HP logo i just want to vomit for all the
extra landfills that will need to be dug just to throw away their
proprietary machines.... i would rather buy a macintosh as proprietary
as HP tries to keep the machine impossible to replace parts in, or
upgrade the OS.

Seriously this HP motherboards is a pile of maggot waste... i need
to take the motheboard out of it.. see if its recyclable, then figure
out the wiring that operates the power switches and lights, so i can
salvage the case and put a decent Motherboard in it.

Find a grinder and grind off the HP logo.
