The system i would like to get is as follows, the board fits my Zalman
7000a cpu cooler lucky its a good board

I do NOT intend to overclock this system as i have heard the at Nforce
2 crashes and ****s the bios up on these boards and similar and i
DON't need that kind of trouble, 200 FSB is more than enough.

And yes i might actually buy this system

1/ Mainboard ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe

2/ Cpu Barton 2500, 200 FSBed, should not have a prob doing 200fsb
with any Barton 2500 oi get right
?

Or should i just get a Barton 3200 its more yes but money is not an
option would prefer a 3200 so idon't have to overclock Nothing what do
you think ?

3/ 2 Matched Dual Channel 512meg 3200 Dimms, my Choice would be Geil
Branded ram, cheaper than Corsair or any ram realy and as fast or
faster, you have any other suggestions ?

3200 would be fine right if iam not going to overclock ?

Not sure what memory timng type versions their are for this ram, what
would you suggest ?

4/ Harddisks 2 Hitachi 120 gig SATA, Raided in what ever the safest
raid their is raid 1 i think, will have my games application on their
but will have a seperate drive to save all the important stuff on if
somthing does go wrong wont loose much just have the anoyance of
installing everything again if i need to.

5/ Radeon 9600 Pro which i have , might add a 9800 pro later if i
think i need it but my 9600 pro seems to do a fine job even in my old
system i have now should be even better in the new system we will see.

Why you may ask iam not getting an Amd 64 bit CPU ?, well i don't
realy see a reason, No 64bit OS, no Applications to take advantage of
it, ill wait maybe 3 years beforei even consider a 64bit system, by
then 128bit will be here :0, and yes i do know 32bit appps run faster
on a 64bit systems for some reason ?

Well what do ya think ?

Male up yer mind...................
first you say you anin gonna overclock and then you go on about 200MHz
fsb..............
If you install an XP2500 then you will have to run ram at the right speed
for it.
You cant run pc3200 at its default with an xp2500

What?????///
I run a Asus A7N8X (Non Deluxe)/Barton 2500+ Mobile/OCZ PC3200 6-3-3-2
(2x256m) At 11.5x200 1.65Vcore.

Most NON-Mobile Bartons will do 200x11 without vcore Increase...you may have
to go up though.
Setup looks good...geil is a good brand but I believe OCZ is priced about
the same.

Look for CL2 timming for the ram.
I got 2x256m from www.newegg.com for about $124 USD.

I run same ram In My brother in laws system which also has my old 2100+ @
2200Mhz (11x200) and a third system for my other Bro In Law (Abit KD7/1800+)
running as a 2600+.
you can run the ram at 200 and the cpu at 166 but that will bottleneck the
system.
So in answer to your question.
Board/Ram/Cpu all look like a good combo.

Where did you hear this? nForce2's are regarded as the best chipset for
overclocking because of the ability to lock the PCI bus

Nice board, soundstorm sounds good

A Barton 2500+ with a FSB of 200MHz would be running at 3200+ speeds

No point if youre going to get a 2500+, theyre essentially the same.

I'm running el-generico PC2700 with agressive timings, so i guess you can
just whack it all the way up.

You can download a beta copy of WXP 64bit for AMD CPU's from the M$ website.

Some ASUS (and others?) can screw the BIOS if you overclock too far....

Especially if you have an external AC3 (Dolby) Decoder with 5.1, Soundstorm
is the only APU with DICE (Dolby Interactive Content Encoder)

Some 2500+'s dont make 3200+, you could get unlucky, if you want to go on
the safe side and as you say "money is not an option" I would get the 3200+

If you arent going to overclock a 2500+ you might as well get PC2700

Remember to check the boards supported list of DDR400 if you decide to go
the faster route.

Yeah, running them at PC2100 at agressive timings, I doubt you would have
much luck running them at PC2700 agressive.

Radeon 9600 Pro is about the same speed as a GF4 Ti4x00 with DX9 isnt it? If
so no need to think about upgrading graphics for a while.....

Not as if there are many mainstream apps or games with support are
there.....I think UT2004 is semi-optimised for 64bit though, not exactly a
huge excuse to go 64bit however is it....

Go for it

Get a barton 2500 mobile, they usually clock to 3200 speeds with good ram
installed.
