Is My Video Card Too Slow?

I've been a DIYer (on the subject of upgrading my PC)

now I have a
ESC K7S5A Pro MB
Athlon 1800 (1.15 GHz)
1 G ram
* Nvdia Riva TNT2 Ultra video card with 32M ram
Canopus ACEDVio vid cap PCI card
LG GSA 4040B multiburner

plus hard drives, etc

and I run XP pro SP2, fresh install less that 30 days old

If memory serves me I've had this video card for about 5 years and it
seems to me that my system is "slow" when browsing (video intensive?)
and if I try and play DVDs (choppy)

I'm suspecting I need to upgrade my video card, can anyone comfirm
this? If this is true, any suggestions? I'm not a gamer, and it seems
my MB tops out at AGP 4X.

TIA

Your problem is not with the video card, assuming it is working properly. Browsing is not video intensive. Video requirements for DVD play are minimal; no 3D, and low resolution can be used. I use a 7 year old AGP 1 card, with a 1.26 Ghz Pentium 3, which I have never upgraded because I am not a gamer.

Athlon 1800 XP = 133*11.5 = 1.53 GHz
you have 100*11.5 = 1.15 - mayby this is your problem?
read your motherboard's manual to check system bus.

PS: sorry for my poor Eglish and best regards from Ukraine.

That is a very old and very slow video card by today's standards. But do
NOT overbuy in getting a faster video card; the rest of your system is a
bottleneck to a much faster card.

Thanks to all.

I reset my buss clock to 133, and it's much faster now. The original
browsing reference was for large/busy pages. This is now fast with
increased clock.

I flashed upgraded my multiburner. checked for all the leatest drivers.
I might try a second software player, so far I've just been trying Nero
Showtime2; which I've been through the config on.

I know it's an old card, but I've got to believe this is a
software/firmware issue, with everything else the system is very quick.
