For these kinds of questions, you can just search the "Support &
Trouble Shooting" or/and "Software & Driver Downloads" sections of the
HP site on the product name/number, i.e. in this case "Pavilion a350n".
That lists "Microsoft Windows XP", so while you might get Windows 2000
to work, you can't expect any support or software for that on the HP
site.
I don't know of any reason - other than memory or/and disk capacity -
why a system would support/work_with XP Home, but not XP Professional
(or vice versa). Of course there might be different hardware/software
support for *additional* functionality, but the basic OS should not be a
problem.
