Anyone know a place to d/l the original restore disks or software? I have a
Solo 9550 and got Windows back on but need the software to play DVDs.

Do you remember if you were using WinDVD or PowerDVD? Those are the most
popular two anyway. You can download them from the web, but you probably
have to pay for them again after the trial period is up.

That is WinDVD then. You can google their website and download a trial
version.

A free decent replacement DVD, media player...

I have used this media player on a number of computers, to replace the
Power DVD player software...

Oh cool thanks! You would recommend replacin PowerDVD with this one? As
I still have a lot of legal copies of PowerDVD I am not even using. LOL

If you have PowerDVD, I would continue using it, but I only use it
mplayer as a replacement when I need a media-player to install.

"MPC 6.4.9.0" (I have only used the 2kxp version) in XP and win2k
systems...
