Hello everyone..

I currently own a Radeon 9000 and I love it.. it's almost tempting to get
the 9800XT right now but I want to hold off because I know even if I
purchase that card and I start plaing Half Life 2 and i'm only getting like
60fps with max settings (I have a 17" LCD so I wanna play at 1280x1024)..
that'll be kinda disappointing seeing how I just purchased a $500 card.. so
what I want to know is when are the new line of Radeons gonna be available?
9900 or 10000? I don't know if that'll be their names but I think I'll wait
and get one of those to get the most out of my beloved HL2 and even better
Doom3!!

If your playing games on an LCD, you are not getting 60FPS anyway, so keep
your 9000.
The response time on the newest and fastest LCDs is just starting to
approach 60FPS.

Hmm... a raw response time of <20ms is standard for new LCDs now. Am I
missing something or is it just straight maths... 1000/20 = 50FPs, oh
yeah... you got a point

Some of the new ones claim 16ms, so I'm giving them the benefit........
so, even though it takes up loads of desk space, I'll be keeping my
SyncMaster955DF for a while longer.
LOL

You may find that dissapoining, but you should stop benchmarking games and
start playing them. 60fps would be fine.

Wait till Next spring to decide... Todays cards maybe about 30% in
April...

Better "Doom3"? From what I've seen HL2 and DOOM3, Dom3 looks more
"cartoonish" in comparision... I think DOOM3 is late because they are
re-working the game

Meanwhile, Unreal Team has been shipping product for over a year.

A 9800 card will make a big difference in visual power over the 9000,
even with an LCD.
