Hello! I am having the same problem with my NF7-S V2.0. However I flash it with NF7-S 1.x BIOS instead of NF7-S2.

What I get now is a blank screen without any beeping.

System LED is running and if hard disk is connected I can see HDD blinking sometime.

I suspect that my motherboard boot the bootblock and I am not seing anything on the screen because of my AGP card. However I try both method suggested by Jef in his page http://pages.sbcglobal.net/jefn/bootblock.html. The one that is a boot floppy and the one that is not boot floppy.

Previouslyl I have disable floppy disk drive in my BIOS setting. The drive is not detected. So I reset CMOS setting and get the floppy disk.

After that, I reboot with every thing else disconnected except the floppy drive. Since I can't see anything on the monitor I have to rely on the floppy disk drive indicator. Funny thing is the floppy drive LED is on but it is not blinking. No floppy disk reading sound either.

After waiting for about five minutes, I reboot and try again. So far it is not working.

I wonder if this is not working because I flash to earlier version? Since I flash my NF7-S V2.0 with earlier NF7-S BIOS.

Please advise. I love this motherboard. It has been working very stable in the past two years!!!

<RANT>

After this incident I can't say that I love ABIT. Hell! they shouldn't have motherboard with different BIOS but look-a-like names - NF7-S2 && NF7-S V2.0, WTF!!!.

And how about this, BIOS ID 28 for NF7-S V1.xx and BIOS ID 26 for NF7-S V2.0. I will have to say that ASUS is better with their information management and web site that does not confuse their customer.

</RANT>

Sorry about the rant. I can't control myself. I am near tears looking at my dead motherboard. Hopefully I can revive it somehow.

Appreciate any help.

Best regards,
Haris

Hello and good day!

If I want to do hot flashing, what is the other motherboard requirement.

My friend have this other motherboard, ASUS P4P800 SE. I wonder if I can do hot fllashing using this mobo.

In some other discussion group it is mentioned that the chipset must be the same. For instance NF7-S using nForce chipset, so the other motherboard must also use nForce chipset. However, I am not sure about this. It sounds like crap. Correct me if I am wrong.

Best regards,
Haris.
