Hi
I've just bought 6.1 speakers for my 6 month old SN41G2 but I have
found that there is no output from the C/B (top) jack socket. I have
set up win XP for 5.1 output and the sound from other two outputs is
OK. Any ideas please?
thanks

peter

Analog or digital speakers?

Did you try the NVSwap utility (download @ NVIDIA)? It sends a noise
signal to all the outputs, one by one. Good for verifying the outputs.

Did you run the speaker configuration wizard in the nForce control
panel?

Hi
I used headphones to check outputs and swapped speakers etc.
Bass/centre definitely dead.
But I will try driver tests. Thanks

Download the NVSwap Utility, really helps to set up a soundstorm system
properly...

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Having tested my outputs as you suggested and
used NVswap
I get the following spoken results:
"LEFT" - low muffled "CENTRE" - "RIGHT" -
"LEFT SURROUND" - "RIGHT SURROND"

When I use headphones on the Centre/Bass jack I just get a very
muffled "CENTRE" in the right ear. There is no output at all to the
left ear.

Using NVswap I get good results on left, right, left surround and
right surround but only a tone on the bass speaker. When I 'swap'
for the centre, there is no bass but a tone on the centre speaker.

(The speakers are Creative Inspire 6.1 and are all working correctly).

Do you think I have a hardware problem on the main board?

Thanks
peter

That doesn't sound like NVSwap - that's more like the test tone from
the main NVIDIA control panel. NVSwap generates irritating, white
noise only.

That sounds correct.

No. I recommend that you download and read this guide:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/LO_20021002_6443.html

I has details on both the control panel and NVSwap. I hope you get it
sorted out soon.

Hi
I tried both tests.
The white noise does not output to the centre speaker, unless I do the
'swap' then there is no bass output.
I have read the setup guides and reinstalled drivers with no luck.

Thanks for your ideas

peter
