I just started to wonder something (if necessary refer to my earlier
thread titled "PCI card with Hard drive") after my hard drive suddenly
went bad w/o warning.

Is there any reason why a drive, after reboot, would no longer be
recognized by the bios? And trying to prevent this again, is there
any good software which could catch this by showing me a pop up window
of a drive going bad?
