Epson IR5000 or Canon IR5000? Maybe Epson rebadges Canon high-end printers for
sale in the UK?
The good news is that much of the ImageRunner 5000 is software compatible with
the LJ8000, if the IR5000 has PostScript (I can't remember if PS is an option or
built-in). The differences would come in the selection of printer trays,
duplexing, other optional features. As a short term solution, you might simply
configure the IR5000 with the same IP address as the LJ8000 had, assuming that
the LJ8000 was a network printer. You may be a little limited in what the
IR5000 can do, but this is better than no printing at all... Ben Myers
