I have a FX55/A8n32-sli dlx/ATI1900XTX/4 SATA drives as standalone/3 ATA
DVD/RW system running Vista x64 ultimate and no matter what I try I don't
seem to be able to install any new nvidia chipset drivers, the install goes
through the routine but when reboot I don't see any changes in the driver
details. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried run as admin to no avail.

Often chipset packages will retain many older versions of previous packages.
If the update completes without any error message, then chances are your
drivers did not need updating, so were not replaced, or possibly replaced
with the same version, (but not likely).

It's the same with most driver packages. Every file isn't re-written just
the ones that need fixing, and any file they depend on. Unless you have a
problem there's nothing to worry about.

If you want to feel certain, you could look at the Nvidia site, (or
elsewhere), for command switches on how to force an install package to copy
files, (I assume this is possible).

Sorry, should have been more specific, when I say no drivers seem to have
changed I mean all the M$ drivers are still in place, no nvidia drivers to
be seen.
