Omnibook vt6200 battery problem

Hi,

my HP Omnibook vt6200 has got a single battery pack in the main battery
slot. According to the Battery Optimizer (using Windows 7 RC) it is fully
loaded. When pressing F6 during boot up the built-in optimizer tells me
same things.

When taking out the battery and press the control button on the battery
itself, I'm too signalled a fully loaded battery.

But guess what? When unplugging the power supply, the Omnibook immediately
switches off. No warning of a low battery state or similar thing, just a
switch off and I cannot boot up from battery.

Now I've no idea what's happening here, the battery seems OK but the
notebook does not notice this.

Any hints how to get the Omnibook back to normal?
