You'll need the latest video drivers approved by your PC or video card
manufacturer. Ensure your motherboard chipset drivers are current. If you
happen to be using the Windows XP drivers that come with XP that is the root
of your problems.

Hi.
I'm running Windows XP Home on a Gateway system.
P4 1.8 Ghz
512 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 AGP 64 MB with the latest (as of yesterday)
NVIDIA drivers.

My apps that use OpenGL will not recognize nor initialize OpenGL.

SiSoftware Sandra OpenGL module says:

Error E300: Failed to initialise OpenGL.
Fix: Check that the OpenGL drivers are correctly installed. It is
possible the OpenGL driver does not support the current video mode,
you may need to reduce resolution, colour depth or refresh rate. Try
the OpenGL screen-savers to see if they work correctly.

I have not changed any resolution, color depth or refresh rate. I've
even tried RivaTuner which I have seen recommended in Usenet groups.
I've reloaded Windows (not a new install, but a repair install), ran
SFC, and on and on.

I have searched low and high on the Internet and various newsgroups
before posting this message.

Can someone help me out with a solution (hopefully not a clean install
of Windows .

TIA
Jose

Thanks, B. I do have the latest video drivers, but I haven't tried
updating the motherboard. I'll wait for some more responses before I
try that.
Jose

OpenGl is included in all version of nvidias drivers, try reinstalling your
video driver or perhaps a different version. For the GF2 I would try the
45.23 or older drivers. The newer ones are optimized for the FX cards and
do little (more harm than good) for the GF4 and older cards.

I personally thought it was much funnier that the first thing the web page
author did was try to reinstall DirectX to fix an OpenGL problem ;p
