try to start it. The green light is lit on the power brick and I can lights

However,
last night after trying to start it several times it jst started when I
pressed the On button. Any suggestions how I can fix it?

Thanks,

Mike

It's back to not starting when I press the start button again. Any
suggestions?

Open it up and look at the capacitors. If any are bulged or leaking,
they're bad. Also possible you have a bad power switch. Or a bad power
supply.

And if the capacitors are bad, Dell will replace the motherboard at no charge,
regardless of warranty status. Dell had a major PR and technical disaster with
the Optiplex GX270 and SX270. Lots and lots of motherboards with bad
capacitors... Ben Myers

Smells like a possible external/internal power problem. Maybe a flaky power
supply.

I'd start by reseating the external power cable at the tower and the wall -
go directly to the wall if there is a UPS/power strip involved.

I'd also get inside the box and seat the PS connectors to the mainboard as
well as the power switch cable to the board as well.

I assume you're getting no errors/beep codes when unsuccessfully attempting
to power up.....

No error messages because nothing happens when I press the power button.

Right. So I'd start with possible external / internal power issues
especially since it's intermittent.

Will do but I'm thinking a bad power switch or bad p/s wouldn't a bad
capacitor just not allow it not to start?
