If Dell delays your order or otherwise jerks you around, such as major
delays due to the laptop paint fiasco, you can likely get some money
back from Dell to partially compen$ate you for your troubles.
Once you receive your laptop, call Dell within 21 days and tell them
you want to return it because you are angry (which is the truth,
right?) at the way you were treated.
Usually (for the past several years), after you still tell them you
want to return it after they tell you there would be a restocking fee,
they will offer you up to $150 cash to keep it, or $200 in coupons.
You have to go all the way past the restocking fee part of the
discussion.
If they don't offer you an incentive after you've gotten through the
restocking fee part of the conversation, you can change your mind.
However, you will likely be offered the cash to keep the Dell.
It's _fair_ compensation IF you are one of the customers going through
what most of these are:

And it's NOT fair compensation if you were not.
Actually, for those wanting a M1330, $150 off for their wait doesn't
begin to compensate them fairly.
Dell is aldo overpricing the systems and went backwards from the
M1210's starting chip speed, so go ahead -- jerk Dell around for a
change and get some compen$ation back for your$elf.
