Ok, I am lost. I can not log onto my web page. I haven't seen it
even once.

It was Wednesday night I bought my domain name from godaddy -
clarkecountyweather.com. Saturday night I buy the server space for
two months from godaddy. I named it the same as the domain -
clarkecountyweather.com

After I buy the space I get an e-mail in the mail saying:

"If your domain was registered by Go Daddy, we will automatically update
your account information. However, if your domain is registered with another
company, you will have to go to your domain registration account and assign
the domain name servers (DNS) for your new hosting account. DNS information
is used to identify your Web site on the Internet.
Primary DNS Host: ns5.secureserver.net
Primary DNS IP: 208.109.78.180
Secondary DNS Host: ns6.secureserver.net
Secondary DNS IP: 208.109.14.171"

Ok, I thought my domain name would be connected to my domain.
I end up uploading my weather program. I know it's uploaded because I
can see the files on the go daddy site. But, time after time I punch
in clarkecountyweather.com I get nothing but a "this page is
coming soon." page. So, after playing around for hours I think my
domain name was "parked" until my site was ready for use.
I change the nameservers for my clarkecounty.com name to
Default Hosting Nameservers (NS5.SECURESERVER.NET, NS6.SECURESERVER.NET).

After that I still could not log onto my page. I can check my domain
hosting control center and it shows my Server IP Address: 208.109.181.34.

I think I just can not get my url name to point and connect to my site.
I am lost.

What's my next step?

If my memory is correct when I had to do the same, they said to allow
X number of days to take effect. I don't recall how many days tho it
may be different with Godaddy.com. Why not ask Godaddy.com for this?
Remember I said to go to a site with good support the 1st year while
you are learning? I hate to say I told you so !!!

I'm starting to wonder if my problem is the directory. I thought the
directory was "/" or blank but I guess it took the name of my log-in
name - "/myweatherpage"

I know my weather station program will not upload to the directory unless
I punch in "/myweatherpage"

I got it all set and it works!!!! I called Go Daddy support. The guy
on
the phone was American and very nice. I told him I couldn't get to my web
page and wanted to know why. At first he said Go Daddy support is not
there to help with web page problems but I told him I don't want help
with my program, I wanted to know if my domain name and domain
host area was correct. He told me they were working correct.

Then the guy looked at the program I had loaded on my server space and
looked at the files. He told me I was missing an index/home/default file or
something. I told
him I've deleted all those files four or five times now so I probably
deleted
it. He said all web pages need that index/home file. Then the guy actually
put me on hold and did more research on the program I was using! He told
me to head to the official weather program message board and tell them
what the problem is and they will probably know what to do.

Well, I just deleted all the stuff of my server space again, uninstalled
the weather program, installed it again, and set it up again - IT WORKED!
I then deleted all the stuff off my server again and tried another weather
program - IT WORKS!

Sweet!

You know, this could be the start of something big. A web site
dedicated to
my favorite food - veal and spaghetti! A site dedicated to my favorite
movie - Ice Station Zebra! A site dedicated to my favorite breed
of dog - Samoyed!

Yeah, I'm happy! Oh, and a web site dedicated to
alt.sys.pc-clone.dell!

I've been reading the guide to that Nvu HTML program. Also got a
book coming from Amazon on HTML.

Sweet!
