OK-- I wanted to post the copyright symbol (little c surrounded by a circle)
in a newsgroup post.

I was able to get the symbol in WORD via the insert symbol command.

I copied and pasted it and it looked fine.

But when the post appeared, all I saw was an "a" with a tilde above it.

Any ideas?

I'll try it again here:
ã

I just pasted it and it looks fine and I'm sending it now

There is a keypad...it's the blue numbers on the M,J,K,L,U,I,O keys.
Hold the Fn key down in addition to the alt keys with the num lock
turned on. Yes...it's a PITA but it can be done.

Alternatively, use Windows character map.

start/run/charmap/ click on
© /click "select"/click "copy", then paste?

(I'm trying this as a test myself, so don't know if the character will hold
in posting or not).
