I no this isn't a Dell related problem, but you guys here are pretty
sharp and maybe you can help me.

I've been using the same Microsoft Wheel Optical USB mouse for a few
years with no problems. Just recently is started acting funny, like you
had to click it three or four times before it would work, either right
or left click. Put the cursor over a icon and click, nothing until you
clicked a few more times.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

thank you

Possibly the electrical contacts for the mouse button are wearing out. Or
maybe they are just dirty. I do not know how to disassemble an optical mouse
to fix this problem. You are probably better off to simply replace it... Ben

I agree with Ben. Probably easier to get a new one.

There's only one screw holding it together though...no harm in opening it up
and seeing what's in there. If you break it, it was already broken anyway.
