I just set up a weekly scheduled task for all my drives, keeps
them defragged with no user interaction.

Hi Andrew, I like how you attribute your posts ("Journey>"). Do you
use any kind of tool or script to do that, or does your newsreader
help with that?

You may as well step outside the norm on how you quote, too. Seems to
be catching.

But... while using Agent, did you notice that the quote isn't the
color of your choice? Being really cool has a price that others have
to pay.

on 7 May you posted:
"("Bookkeeper" is the only word in the English language with 3 double
letters in a row)"

Well, except for bookkeeping (and the plurals for both of those
words).

It is the supercite package that you can add to Gnu Emacs.

It does get confused on long threads, but it is good for the
first couple go rounds.

ah

I like the way it quotes. It can get confusing when some people post
at the top, and some at the bottom. When I first came on the 'net in
1994, people were religious about how to do that. I have some really
good text editors (JEdit, Notetab Pro, Text Plus, and Ultra Edit -- I
should be able to come up with a good macro, or even a simple
stand-alone app in which I can paste text into a window, enter a quote
attribute, highlight the text, and have it attributed with the
contents of the text box. Hmmmmm, time to brush up on my .NET skills
maybe).

Unfortunately I agree.

I prefer my defense -- I just don't use Windows whenever possible. Also
even if MS did try and kill them off, they will never truly disappear as
long as they're still useful. Just look at DVD Shrink which was legally
forced to be removed but is trivial to find with a quick search or
perhaps more relevant to this case is all the home xbox apps illegally
compiled but again trivial to find for those who know where to look. I
believe what will really kill those tools is simply MS removing the
hooks they use in the OS in the future.

Or just start using emacs (the "e" is for Extensible!). It is
an amazing program (or environment). I did almost every thing
under emacs when I was working... Now just usenet...

emacs -- is that one of those Linux command-style word processors? If
not, I'm interested. If you have a download link that's cool
otherwise I can Google. Thanks!

emacs is a text editor that was implemented originally for the GE Multics
computers. It, along with the OS, was developed at MIT. Then someone got the
idea to rewrite it in C, make it open source and port it here and there. And
who else can remember Multics? Who else used Multics? ... Ben Myers

Wow, I think this is the first time that I can't wax eloquently about
the old days! And I thought I was a dinosaur :-)
