I am now using a Diamond Monster MX300 PCI sound card ( $100 US back when
:-) )and I like gaming, esp Q3 online.
What would be a good cheap PCI card to use to better hear 'directionally'
and clearer?
I found some CL SoundBlaster Live 5.1 cards on Pricewatch.
Most were under $25.
Is it worth buying one or do I need to go all out and spend over $100?
I use headphones, and not my speakers due to living in a condo.
Thanks for any info or suggestions.

I'm really happy with my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz,
starts at $44 (for OEM) and $60 for retail packaging
on pricewatch.

Watch the OEM SBLive product offerings. Some of them (sb0220 models
and others) will give you a headache installing Creative drivers due
to a failure of the Creative drivers to recognize the model number. I
have an sb0100 and it works nicely. Try to find one of these models.
