where theres your first problem.
AMD chips run best when there fsb speeds are in sync with the ram speeds. as
it now, your cpu is out of sync (cpu @ 333, ram @ 266).
You got two choices in my eyes.
1. buy new ram, go for DDR400 if your board can support it.
2. Overclock your current ram
Unless u got real good ram, option one is really the best one.
to test the max speed of the ram. go into the bios and drop the fsb speed to
266ddr or 133mhz, if my memory serves me right your cpu has a mulitplier of
9.5 giving you a cpu speed of 1.2Ghz(a 300 mhz drop, don't worry!). Then
change the ram speed ratio to 1:1 instead of what it might be now(something
like 5:4). once this is done your ram and cpu should both be running on a
133mhz(266) fsb.
Once you've done that up the fsb speed by about 5 mhz, rebooting into
windows after every increase. Keep going till the pc crashes. If the board
fails to post, just reset your cmos, make sure you know all the settings
first!!
Once you have the max fsb speed, drop it by about 10 mhz and that should
give you a good place to start testing for stability.
If you got crap ram, you most likely won't get past about 140 mhz, on the
other hand if you got good ram, you could get all the way to and past
166mhz.
However if you get new ram, you can go as far as the board will allow you.
200mhz is the golden mark for skt A. My setup runs at 184mhz fsb, giving me
a cpu overclock of around 200mhz allowing my 2600 @ 1.8ghz to run like a
2800@2ghz.
i hope that answered all of your questions
