Since my last post, I shut the computer down for a few hours, with the
PSU standby on, and pressing the start button, it booted once, just as
last time, so it's consistent here.
One thing I did notice, was that after installing software and/or
changing software settings (nothing to do with BIOS boot, AFAIK) and
selecting restart, I got a double boot.
As mentioned, Asus explains what it is doing, but does not get into
specifics, other than OCing. I am on the latest BIOS for the P5B-Plus
(0804 from 0604) and saw no difference in operation, since it's simply
for more inclusive memory compatibility.
Hopefully, someone with a more in depth knowledge of DB® will answer
your question as to any other conditions that will cause the DB® (I
decided to register it

) to occur.
