P4M800PRO-M Dead?

My P4M800PR0-M{1.0A) Was running fine with a Celeron 346 and two Ultra 1G
PC3200 DDR.

I tried upgrading it to a PD 805. While I was at it I thought I'd use the
DDR2 slots instead, so I replaced the memory with two Buffalo 533mhz DDR2.

When I try to bring it up it powered on, but there is no POST, no beeps. It
just sits there with the PSU running and the power and HD lights on.

I've tried reverting to the original configuration, removed all drives and
cards, but no luck, it acts the same. I cleared the cmos after every
change.

Is this board dead or am I missing something?

Correction, the CPU was a Celeron D 351, 3.2 GHz.

Did you plug in the 2x2 12V cable again ?

According to the manual, you can use DDR or you can use DDR2, but
not both at the same time. But the motherboard doesn't seem to have
a voltage selection jumper, so it is hard to see how you could have
damaged it.

The Pentium D 805 can draw more power, but that is usually an
issue when trying monster overclocks. At nominal conditions,
it shouldn't have popped anything. If you followed the example
set by Tomshardware (running it at 4GHz), that causes an
805 to draw 200W. Which will ruin many boards that aren't intended
for such things. An 8 phase Vcore regulator is more suited to 200W
abuse. Cheaper boards with 3 or 4 phase power, might not live
too long that way.

Yes, the 12v cable was plugged in near the CPU, and I only tried one kind of
memory at a time.

If all the cables are in place, and there are no beeps, then something
serious has happened to the motherboard. With no memory in place, and the
original processor, do you get memory error beeps ? That would be the last
test I'd try, before trying another motherboard.

I guess it's dead. Even with no memory, it doesnt beep, it justs sits there
with the cpu fan spinning.

Dont Worry had same problem turned out the mo/bo could comm with cpu
Go back to old ram and leave cpu in if it still hangs check cpu setting on mo/bo set to auto. if still n/g put old cpu with old ram get her to reboot cleanly. once you are back to square 1 swap old ram tonew ram get her to reboot clean.If she does double check if that mo/bo and cpu are compatable.like i said before. Had asus mobo with 1.6 put in 2.4 only to go crazy asus mobo went only up to 2100mh 2.4 is 2400mz.boy it drove me crazy.all it did was hang
