Hey guys..... Ive got a new build with the Asus P4T533-C as my main
board with a P4 2.8 Northwood CPU 512/533 fsb with 1gb of samsung
PC800 Rambus in it (4 sticks of Matching 256 sticks) & it will not
post to the monitor. All I get is long beeps..... When I remove the
2.8 CPU & put in a P4 1.5 / 256 /400 CPU in it takes right off. Then I
went to the bios version to see what version I had & if my new 2.8 was
supported & it already has the 1010 version from asus on in it. Then I
done some research to see where a few people had to set their Ram
multipliers to 3X in order to get the post out of the systems with
PC800 Mem, so in my post with the 1.5 cpu i went into the bios to set
the ram to 3x, saved exited, shut down, swapped cpu's only to get the
same annoying no post beeps! So basically at im at a block wall. Also
I tested the new 2.8 Northwood CPU in a different machine & it takes
right off so I know the cpu is good. Any input to this would be much
appreciated! Also the Jen jumpers are set on 2 & 3 auto mode.....
(default)Thanks

Although it may be just a resolvable timing error, that mb is pretty
old. Mine failed after 3 years.
FYI, you can still buy a brand new Intel D850EMVR for about 70 bucks
that will take 800 or 1066 Rambus and the Northwood.
No NIC on it, but otherwise as good as the 533-c.
That's what I did a while back and my son is still gaming with it.
Didn't want to toss or bother selling 1gb of 1066.
