Hello,

I purchased a USR, 3Com, PCI Fax/Data Modem for my P5B-Deluxe system and
would like to know which PCI slot I should use for the modem?
Currently, I have no other slots being used on the mainboard, just the
main PCI-Express Graphics slot.

Thanks,

Steven

probably a stupid response, but why not just use the onboard modem. It works
just fine. You can put the one you bought in any of the unused slots (which
ever one is most convienent) and you might want to disable the onboard modem
(unless you need 2 modems).

"Onboard modem"? Please explain? I have the P5B-Deluxe. No onboard
modem that I'm aware of, just the Marvell Dual Gigabit LAN, RJ-45,
controller.

It shouldn't matter which PCI slot you use. I have the P5W DH Deluxe
and have had the modem in different slots at different times.
