I have a P5LD2 Delux and I was wondering if there could be any problems with
installing a dual core processor before I go out and spend the money.

Prior to spending you might also want to consider as to whether you have any
apps that can actually utilise dual core

The supported ones are listed here. There are no "Core 2 Duo" processors listed.
The ones listed are "Pentium D".

This is the Intel Pentium D list. The top one draws 130 watts.

http://processorfinder.intel.com/Lis...Spec=&OrdCode=

The 960 is listed here for $434. Should keep you toasty warm in winter.

I don't really care about getting a dual core processor. My older PVR
machine needs a processor upgrade form a celeron so I was hoping to pull out
the P4 single core 3.0Ghz processor and put that in the PVR.

Now I need a processor for the P5LD2 delux mobo but the compter stores here
only sell the dual core processors.

If you are in Canada, maybe you could pick up a processor here:

"Intel Pentium 4 631 3GHZ LGA775 2MB 800FSB XD EM64T HT Processor Retail Box"
