P5W-DH Deluxe versions?

I've been thinking about building a comp around the P5W-DH
Deluxe/E6600 combo. In today's Fry's ad, just that combo is listed as
a package for $521, a pretty good price. I'm always a bit suspicious
of such offers, especially since I've had problems with returns at
Fry's. My question is are there outdated/inferior versions of the
P5W-DH Deluxe that I should be aware of when evaluating this purchase?

Same combo is $517...and includes Wifi, not sure if the Fry's version
does....

At Newegg:

6600 + ASUS P5WDG2-WS PRO: $583.

Anyway, I don't think that combo is one of their loss leaders, which can
be pretty good....

Also, according to this, there is a price drop scheduled for April 22.

dropped about $90. (See table at bottom of page.)

Dave, be careful, the P5W DH Deluxe is a very advanced board, and not for
the faint of heart to use. If you like tweaking BIOS, over-clocking, having
cutting-edge components, then go for it. But be prepared to run down some
problems

My system: P5W DH Deluxe mobo || Intel E6600 cpu || Corsair TWIN2x2048-6400
R ram || ATI x1950 Pro gpu || Antec Neohe 500wt psu || Antec Sonata case ||
two DVD r/w || 250g SATA storage || MS XP Pro sr2b opsys

Be careful what RAM you purchase, I have had problems with Corsair, as have
others. All brands of ram. Be absolutely sure you download all new drivers
and BIOS updates and install them. Especially if you are going VISTA, you
must install BIOS 1700 or newer to get it to run on this board.

I suggest you drop by the ASUS forum on this board and take a read, you may
avoid some pit falls if you do.

Their is a good list of updated drivers for you to use - please do.

You will have to get into BIOS ram timing to get 800 mhz out of the ram.
You probably will have to manually set timing and voltage as well. If you
are into RAD, off to BIOS you will go.

I've had my system running since October, and I am still fighting a random
load problem with WindowBlinds skinning software. Sometimes I have to
re-boot two or three times before all is good. I suspect it is ram, but I
haven't run it down yet.

The Wi-Fi is a great unit, very hot. Best I've seen around. The remote
control isn't worth much. I'm still waiting for VISTA to mature a bit more
before I jump on it. I just got my upgrade Vista DVD in the mail, but I'm
keeping it on the shelf for now.

Go with G.Skill. Absolutely fantastic on OC'ing. Cool running, rock solid
and seems like a soulmate for this board. Corsair is over-hyped and gets
blown away by G.Skill. Genunine Micron D9 chips.
