I'm trying to get rid of the third-party tie-ins that the slutty bitch
HP splooged all over its hardware.

I used recovery manager to create a disk set. But that recovery disk
is still a blend of Microsoft, OEM Ms. Dash, and third-party tie-ins.
It looks as though the three cannot be separated.

Is there anyway to get something that looks like a retail copy of
Vista out of this purchase? Eh, it should go unstated, but I'm
talking about the *legal* copy of Vista I bought without the unwanted
crap.

Will a retail media disk work with HP's OEM activation number?

Hellllllp. Thanks.

If history is a good indicator, a retail media disk will NOT work with HP's OEM
activation number. That's the way it was with XP.

Your best bet is to install with what you've got, then use Add/Remove Programs
to remove the junkware and trialware. Finally, remove all restore points after
updating with the latest critical fixes and run CCleaner to clean up the rest of
the garbage... Ben Myers
