Pavillion's RECOVER partition

Pavillion a172on bought in April. In short, I have besides the
recover partition, a set of recover discs that Best Buy supplied with
their version of what they think I should use, and I have my own set
of back-ups etc. using Acronis.
Question:
Is there any reason not to delete the recover stuff and either use it
as-is or re-partition to make a larger C: drive?
