Hi,

I was working away on my home PC and suddenly it went into power
save/suspend/hibernate mode...

Now it won't boot up... power on and all fans start up, disks spin, but
I get nothing on the monitor - no BIOS, nothing. I've changed video
cards - no change. Monitor is fine - I'm using it right now.

Checked all connectors and they all seem OK.

I'm suspecting my motherboard at this stage... Gigabyte GA-8KNXP.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
J

Try the following:

1) Remove all peripherals (HD, Sound Crad, Lan Card etc.)

2) Remove all Memory sticks

3) Remove the Video Card for now

4) Try to boot up and see if you can at least hear the BIOS beeps. If
not check the power supply.

5) If you hear beeps, shut down, just re insert the Video card and power
up and see if it goes through POST and fails at memory check. Then
reinsert just one stick of memory at the first DIMM socket and see if it
can go through POST again. Continue this process with each peripheral
until you know which one went bad.

PS. If you don't hear any beeps with all peripherals and memory out and
you have assured that power supply is bad, it is time to replace that
mother board.

Sounds like a failed motherboard to me.

BIOS have battery. tray to unpin it and than put it in place. this
action will reset all bios to default values. if any hardver problem is
detected , there is a little siren on motherboard and if it sounds than
you have hardware conflict, othervise I do not know. good luck
