You said your PC won't start when you turn it off. It's not supposed
to start when you turn it off, you have to turn it back on. Please
explain in moe detail and someone can help you.
If you mean that it won't start when you turn it ON, or it does this
while you are working on the computer,well...that's different. When it
does what you say it does, after a while, I would go into your BIOS ,
and look under a section probably called POWER or something to that
effect. and disable every power saving function, or reset you BIOS to
DEFAULT, which does the same thing and restart and things should work.
What happens is, the BIOS could have been set, by mistake, to turn
the computer off and idle the hard drive and put the monitor on
standby after so many minutes of inactivity. I prefer to disable those
settings manually, and when I plan to be away from the PC, i turn the
monitor off manually to save electricity, and just let the rest spin
on.
For an extended period, of course, just shut the computer off. Period.
