I was wondering where I find the phone tools, to download on my computer.
We reformatted and I forgot where we download it from.
Is it on the system disk, or windows disk?
Thanks,
Carolyn Yoder

We have a Gateway Select 1000 Digital Music PC.
It was called Phone Tools, we used it as a answering machine and we could
also use it to talk to people on the phone. It also could be used to do
faxes.
I just thought if someone knew right off the bat where it was that would
save me from getting all the disk's out that came with it.
Thanks
Carol

Sorry I can't help you with this, Sis. 8-( I was hoping it was MegaPhone
and you could've D/L'ed it from my shared folder. Have you checked the
Gateway site?

Thanks, for everyone's help, I went to gateway tech support and they helped
me in finding it.
And I wrote it down now that it is in the restoration disk #3.

Carol, I have a Dell 4550 with the free Phone Tools program. Did you ever
get the remote answer feature to work? I haven't been able to get that to
work no matter what I tried and tech support from Dell or BVRP is
non-existent. Thanks, Pat

I haven't tried it since I reloaded it, but the answering part always worked
before along with the fax.
I use the fax a good bit. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to
put 2 pages on the same fax.
I have to use my scaner to scan it to the computer before I can send it, and
sometimes I have more than 1 page to fax.
Other than that it works just fine.

Carol

Phone tools answer machine works fine for me, but I can't get the remote
retrieval to work, e.g. press 1234 to receive messages on the road.

I usually use phone tools like a printer and print my faxes from word or any
other program. Just tell word to print to phone tools, select as many
ranges of pages you want and also uncheck reverse print order. It faxes as
many pages as I want. If your scanning in documents, then just save them as
a jpg file and insert them in a word document and print it to phone tools,
just like above. It's another step, but I don't know any other work
arounds. HTH, Pat

I believe the OEM version of phone tools doesn't have that feature, only
the upgrade ie $$$ version. I just insert the pages/data into Word and
fax the single document (but with multiple pages) with phonetools and
that works. OEM phone tools that I have only faxes a single 'document',
but you can have a multipage document via Word etc.
