Physical access to Memory on Media Center PC

I just got two memory modules to install in my HP Pavillion Media Center
PC, Mod m7690y. But when I remove the access panel, I confront a huge
bolted in structure that pevents access to most of the motherboard
particularly the memory slots.

The HP documents for this machine on memory installation show some a nice
photo of some other machine with a notation that "your computer may look
different" and is no help.

Does anyone know how to remove these drive bays (the left-most) so I can
gain access to the memory area? How about any pointers to truly relevant HP
docs on dis-assembly of this specifc computer?
