When starting the starting the computer I get the following message:
RPL-ROM-FFC:5 Searching for boot from IDE Floppy CD and SCSI.

The harddrive is good, it will boot with another computer, it is a Western
Digital XPPRO 80. The Processor is a AMD1.1, I think.

This all started once my original Harddrive failed. I purchased a new one
and loaded XP. I was never able to get the computer to run. The computer
will start with the XP cd but it wants to continue to reload windows. This
has happened many times.

I hope this makes sense. Any help from would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jim

1st Pull power cord out and clear CMOS.
If you can get into the BIOS after this remove the floppy drive from
the boot order e.g set to boot from the hard drive 1st and disable the
boot floppy seek.

Hi,

This may not apply to XP however, older versions required the disk be setup
as a boot drive. The primary label may only apply to Win9x and its Dos
roots...
