I have a Compaq Ripcurl Pentium 4 Win2000 Pro and while using a new keyboard, accidentally hit the sleep button just above the escape key and the system immediately went black in less than a second. I tried pushing the sleep key again - nothing - the mouse, keyboard - nothing. Finally tried the power button and it started to boot? since when does a sleep button power down a system?
Now all I get is a red Compaq splash screen, kybd lights and then two beeps - over and over again.
I can get to the BIOS setup.
any ideas what I should try next?
