I need to get a new power supply for a PC I built with an Asus P4C800-E
Deluxe motherboard. Does this board require "negative 5" power?

Apparently newer power supplies do not provide "negative 5" so I need to
know if the P4C800-E Deluxe requires it.

Thanks.

Peter

Hi Peter,

I am not sure what 'negative 5' power is???
I do have an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe with a Corsair 620 watt PSU and it
works fine so far.

It's been quite some time since -5V has been discontinued, as it's not
used anymore. Most power supplies don't even supply it. They do still
have -12V, although I'm not sure why. The negative voltages were used
with older serial and/or parallel ports and some ISA slot cards.

I bought an Antec SmartPower 450 on sale at Staples a couple of months ago
and it works fine. Fixed the period reboot issue.
