Presario probs, unmountable boot volume

Oops, posted to hp.apps first, my bad.

Anyway, here goes. Computer restarted after RealPlayer update, just keeps
going back to "Start
normally, or with Safe Mode" screen, if you try to start in Command Prompt
with F8 you get the error message "Unmountable boot volume"

I checked it out on MS website, and performed chkdsk /r per their
instructions, with no help.

Of course, HP's idea of support is a destructive recovery. Anyone have any
other ideas?
