Printer install problems

I am trying to install the drivers for my Deskjet 895CSE on my NT 4
server. I have the printer on my HP Jetdirect printer server (so not
actually on my machine). The problem is I cannot seem to install them
without getting the error that there is no Printer installed (says no
ports found). It then will only let me abort the install. If I try to
install the drivers for the Jetdirect device - it says there is no
drivers for the Deskjet and trys to get me to install it (where I get
the error as mentioned).

How do I get around this problem, without having to move the printer to
the other room and physically connect the printer, just to get the
drivers loaded?

Tom,

Have you tried using HP's Install Network Printer Wizard?

You may have to use older "dumbed down" DeskJet drivers. Many of the
bidirectional DeskJets are a major pain to get up and running as shared printers
or on a JetDirect, because the software install and the software left behind
insists on regular two-way communication via parallel port between printer and
computer for info like ink levels. Some of the older DeskJets have essentially
one-way drivers... Ben Myers
