Printing Problem with DeskJet 450 & Windows XP

HI,

I have IBM laptop with Windows XP Professional & DeskJet 450 printer.
Some time my printer works fine. Sometime without any notification it
stops printing. When I give Print Command It gives me error 'the
printer is off or capable of one way communication only.’ Then I
have to reinstall this printer & reboot the XP. But it is very time
consuming. Can any one help me in this?

Somewhere in the printer's properties is a check box that tells the driver to
use bi-directional communication. How about un-checking it?

Next, make sure that the IBM laptop's printer port is set to use ECP, the
latest, last, and most advanced mode of parallel port operation... Ben Myers
