Problem connecting to a webcam site with new computer

My new computer won't let me connect to a part of a webcam site. It's an Optiplex 755 with XP Pro
SP2 from the outlet. The odd thing is I have no problem with my old computer running Windows 2000
SP4. I also have no problems on another Dell with XP Media Center.

I tried uninstalling the Comodo firewall (that works fine on my old computer) and rebooted. That
didn't help. I also had the Windows firewall turned off. I'm using AVG 7.5 free edition. The site
uses the Flash Player. I've tried Firefox 2, Opera 9 and IE 6. I'm using a dial-up connection. Could
my modem be the problem? It's a new US Robotics 5670. Maybe there is something about XP Pro that the
site doesn't like? I haven't installed any Windows updates since getting the computer a week ago.

The site is webcamnow.com and I can't get into the Open area. The messages I get are "Successfully
logged in" then "Connection to the server failed". Another odd thing is I can get into the Friends &
Family area of the site.

The site might use Java - and IIRC M$ stopped included their own
version of java as it was a broken clone of the proper one following a
lawsuit.

Try downloading it from http://www.java.com

Thanks. It came with Sun Java installed. I tried a different modem. It didn't help.

If you can connect to the site it isn't the modem at fault.

What site is it - we might be able to figure out what's up with it...

OK, most streams I tried didn't work, but a couple did... urgeisha
worked slowly, and khrystian (sp?) was at best, slow porn.

It's not being unable to view the streams that is the problem. I can't even get into the
window that shows you the streams and chatrooms. It logs me in then disconnects me from
the server before I ever see the window that has the streams and chatrooms.

So far I've installed Nero 6, Agent 2, Irfanview, AVG Antivirus free edition, Flash
Player, Firefox 2, Opera 9. I don't think any of this software should be causing a
problem. Comodo Firewall was uninstalled so I don't think that is a problem and it works
on my other computer with no problems.

i dont think you should use that crappy site as a basis for your
computer working.
that site sucks !
i suggest you stay off it and find better use of your time.
and do not give them money for anything.

I will look at the processes. I've since reinstalled Comodo because it works fine on my
Windows 2000 computer and it gives you the option of blocking things or not blocking them.

I'll try autoruns and see what I find.

Pun intended? What don't you like about it? There are some friendly people there and the
psychos can be filtered. There are actually some people there who are fun to talk to. I'm
not recommending it though.
