problem with HT technology

I have a
CPU: p4/2.8GHz/1mbCache/with HTT(Hyper-Threading Technology
and a
MB:Asus/P4V8x-x/that said in its catalog to have support of HTT
BUT
The HTT is not enabled on my motherboard.

note that I've updated Bios, Operatin system (win XP 2005), and any
task that I thought may be usefull.

please help if you can;
