Problem with laptop AC adapter port

I have a VPR Matrix laptop from Best Buy.

Recently my laptop (while charging) fell on it's side so that the
force of the fall pushed the AC adapter head hard into the AC adapter
port. It now seems that the AC port is somewhat loose in in the
laptop, and when the AC adapter is in the port, a charge is hard to
come by unless force is applied to the adapter head in one direction
(not further in, but to one side). So, if the laptop were on a table,
a heavy book could be used to force the AC adapter head to one side in
the port, initiating the charge. However, the AC adapter head gets
scorchingly hot, and a "goo" has begun to discharge from the AC
adapter head.

Is this problem fixable, either by me or a technician? If not, do I
have any alternatives to power this laptop (without using the damaged
AC port). For example: external batteries, etc.

A charge is eventually possible, but not without much initial
frustration and continual physical maintenance. And, that "goo" can't
be good for anyone.

Thanks for any and all help.

It needs to be opened up, the mainboard taken out and a the socket
resoldering back onto the PCB.
