Hello Again,
On 12/23, I reported a problem trying to install a USB 2.0 5-port PCI card
in the subject mobo. It was suggested that I might try a larger capacity
power supply, which I did (500 Watt, AMD approved), but no luck. So, I went
to my local CompUSA store and exchanged the SIIG card for their own brand of
equivalent card and it installed perfectly. The major difference that I
could see between the SIIG card and the CompUSA card is that the former has
an SIIG chip, while the latter has an ALi chip.
So, if you want to add USB 2.0 to your K7S5A (V1.0) mobo via a PCI card,
avoid cards with the SIIG chip. As I mentioned in my previous post, the
SIIG chip does work with the K7S5A Pro.
